3rd China Shengzhou International Caricature Exhibition 2026
Caricature is an artistic category with unique charm. Centering on the creative techniques of distortion, exaggeration and perfect integration of form and spirit, it can not only vividly depict people’s looks and profoundly interpret their personality traits, but also take root in China’s fine traditional culture. As a contemporary art form, it is popular worldwide and deeply loved by art enthusiasts across countries.
Shengzhou, Zhejiang, China boasts profound cultural heritage and enduring elegance. It is renowned at home and abroad as the Hometown of Yue Opera and a core section of the Eastern Zhejiang Tang Poetry Road. It has also become a cultural hub for caricature artists worldwide to exchange ideas, hone skills, make friends through art and enhance friendship. The city has successfully hosted four National Caricature Exhibitions and undertaken the 2nd International Caricature Exhibition, enjoying a strong artistic atmosphere and outstanding reputation in the industry.
With profound artistic accumulation and solid experience in exhibition organization, the 3rd International Caricature Exhibition will be grandly held again in Shengzhou, Zhejiang, China this October. The details of artwork submission for the exhibition are hereby announced as follows:
I. Basic Information
• Exhibition Date: October 2026 (Tentative)
• Venue: Shengzhou Cultural and Creative Theme Museum, Shengzhou, China
• Scale: Approximately 200 selected artworks (subject to the final evaluation result)
II. Organizers
• Guiding Organization: China Journalistic Cartoon Research Association
• Host Organizations: Zhejiang Cartoonists Association, Publicity Department of CPC Shengzhou Municipal Committee
• Supporting Organization: Satire and Humor Weekly, People’s Daily
III. Participation Requirements
1. Theme: Works shall be caricatures of world-famous figures in politics, science and technology, culture, economy, sports and entertainment, featuring both interestingness and top-tier artistic expression.
2. Content Restrictions: Works involving inappropriate content such as war, religion, violence and pornography will not be accepted for selection.
3. Work Specifications: There is no limit on the number of submissions. Works must be newly created within the past five years and have never won awards in other competitions. All entries must be original works with no restriction on painting techniques. Copycat works, ghost-painted works and plagiarized works are strictly prohibited. AI-generated works are not allowed. Any legal disputes or liabilities arising from violation of the above provisions shall be borne solely by the creator.
4. Submission Format: Entries shall be in JPG format with a resolution of 300 dpi and file size between 2MB and 5MB. File naming format: Name (as per ID card or passport)_Work Title_Country.
5. Email Requirements: Email subject format: The 3rd International Caricature Exhibition_Name_Country.
The email must state the creator’s name, country, email address, mailing address, postal code, phone number, personal profile and personal photo.

V. Benefits for Artists
1. The list of selected artists will be published online, and electronic certificates will be issued to all selected participants.
2. All participants will receive an electronic album of the exhibition.
VI. Rights of the Organizer
1. The organizer reserves the rights to exhibit, research, photograph, record, publish and promote all submitted works.
2. By submitting works for participation, all artists shall be deemed to have acknowledged and voluntarily abided by all provisions of this Call for Entries.
