REGULATIONS

International Cartoon Salon, 18th Edition, 2023, Brăila, Romania

Implementation period: February – September 2023.

Theme: MAJORITY

Maximum number of papers: 3.

The works will be original and will be accompanied by a short biography, photo, address and telephone number.

The technique of making the works is free.

Enrollment of the works in the contest: The works will be sent by e-mail until June 11, 24:00 (local Romanian time) to the address: cartooncontestbraila@gmail.com

Judging will take place during: June 26 – July 10, 2023.

Technical conditions:

Works will be sent in electronic format, JPG, 300 dpi resolution, CMYK.

Each submitted work will contain the author’s name and the title of the work in the file name.

Prizes awarded:

GRAND PRIZE 1000 EUROS

FIRST PRIZE 700 EUROS

II PRIZE 500 EUROS

III PRIZE 400 EUROS

 3 SPECIAL PRIZES 3 x 200 EUROS

The amounts corresponding to the prizes are taxable according to the Romanian legislation in force, on the date of their award.

In order to be able to receive their prizes, the winners must send the awarded work in the original (with the author’s signature on the back of the work) within a maximum of 45 days from the announcement of the winners (on the organizer’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook .com/Centrul.de.Creatie.Braila, together with the opening). The winning works will be accompanied by a statement (attached to these Regulations) regarding the transfer of copyright for the purpose of unlimited exposure as well as personal bank account data (name of the bank, IBAN code, SWIFT code), through a document issued by bank, account in lei (for Romanian competitors), respectively in euro/national currency (for foreign competitors).

The prizes will be offered in RON, at the euro exchange rate of the BNR from the date of approval of the initial Regulation.

Prizes are paid by bank transfer.

Transfer costs will be borne by both parties (Organizer and prize winner), according to banking law.

The prizes will be transferred within a maximum of 60 days from the announcement of the winners, in compliance with the legal provisions.

The winning works will be sent by post to the following address: Romania, Brăila, Piața Traian, no. 2, zip code 810153.

The organizer will not be responsible for the impossibility of a winner to take possession of the prize for reasons not related to it. If the competitor does not comply with the obligations imposed by this regulation, the Organizer is exempted from any liability.

Note: In the absence of interbank relations between Romania and the winner’s country of origin, the Organizer is exempt from any liability.

The participants will declare that they are the owners of the works and hold the copyright on the caricatures entered in the contest.

By entering the works in the competition, the participants give their consent to the exhibition of the respective works in the caricature exhibitions organized in art galleries or museums, ceding the copyright for the respective works, in view of the exhibition (the agreement being implicitly given for the promotion of the International Art Salon Caricature).

The organizer does not assume any responsibility for possible violations of copyright or property.

Responsibility rests exclusively with the person who sent the cartoon.

The winners of the International Caricature Salon transfer the ownership of the awarded works to CJCPCT Brăila at the time of handing over the original works to it.

The winners declare on their own responsibility that they assign the copyright on the works for the realization of exhibitions in order to promote the event, the institution and the image of the city, for an unlimited period, by any means.

Exhibitors from the catalog of the edition allow/give CJCPCT Brăila the right to use the works in order to promote the institution, the city and the salon in Art Galleries, museums, etc.

Exhibition opening and award ceremony: September 20, 2023, 8:00 p.m.

The organizer will provide accommodation and meals for one day, for the winners who will be present at the opening.

The organizer will provide/settlement the transport for the Grand Prize winner.

Winners residing in the Municipality of Brăila are exempt from accommodation.

The organizer reserves the right to change the conditions of the contest; subsequent changes will be communicated to those interested.

The catalog of the International Cartoon Show, in pdf format, will be downloadable from the institution’s website: http://centruldecreatiebraila.ro/ after the opening of the Show.

Enrollment in the Salon is equivalent to taking cognizance of and complying with the Regulations of the Salon.

Statement – assignment of copyright

The undersigned, ………………………………………… ………….., I hereby declare that I am ceding the right

of the author/exhibition right, the County Center for the Conservation and Promotion of Culture

Traditional Brăila, on the award-winning work at the International Caricature Salon, 18th Edition,

2023, Brăila, Romania, for holding exhibitions, in order to promote the event, the institution and

image of the city, indefinitely, by any means.
