Artist Focus: Mojtaba HeydarPanah
Illustrator – IRAN
Young Iranian artists have been successful in designing, graphics, and illustration. Participation and winning prizes in various national and international exhibitions is an evident for this claim. Mojtaba HeydarPanah is one of these artists who have gained so much experience in illustration despite his youth. In addition to national prizes, Mojtaba has won numerous prizes in international contests from various countries such as Serbia, Italy, and Argentina.
Mojtaba’s art is sensible, conceptual, and social oriented even in the first glance. He has begun his artistic career by writing fictions and uploading them on his weblog. This was a good way for him to communicate with Persian artists and upgrade his art. Mojtaba chose cartoon and illustration because of their difference in making the audience think deeply. He says: “I do enjoy the power of conveying the meaning to the audience in order to make them think within a single frame and sometimes shock them with my art. Cartoon is my communicative device which let me talk to the people of the world without knowing their languages.”
