SELECTION AND NOMINEES of the 25th Euro-kartoenale Kruishoutem

Dear cartoonist

We like to thank you for your participation in the 25th edition of the Euro-kartoenale Kruishoutem ‘The Hat – Hats off!’

Yesterday the final jury meeting took place in Kruishoutem under the presidency of Mr Pol Leurs .

The international jury had a very difficult task to compare 2659 cartoons from 728 cartoonists from 82 countries. They all agreed on the high quality of the entries and selected about 160 cartoons for the exhibition and 100 works for the catalogue. So Hats off to all participants!

That means that a lot of you will be disappointed. Every participant however may be proud on the work that she or he send to this exhibition . We encourage each and everyone of you to continue drawing cartoons as it is one of the most difficult and powerful art forms.

The jury did decide that 8 cartoonists are nominated for the 6 prizes and honourable mentions (in alphabetical order):

Who did win which prize and with which cartoon will be announced on the opening ceremony on Saturday the 19th of April in Kruishoutem.

To know if you are selected for the exhibition or the catalogue the participation list at our website will be updated by February 15th.

We keep you informed about the opening ceremony and the publication of the catalogue.

By the end of April all participants will be able to download their certificate of participation or selection. The finalists (top 30) will get a certificate by e-mail.
