International Cartoon and Illustration Exhibition-China 2025

In recent years, transformative technologies exemplified by artificial intelligence and big data have been driving global socioeconomic development at an unprecedented pace. As intelligent technologies get more deeply integrated into all aspects of our society, human-machine collaboration will become the norm. However, problem-solving technologies can also bring with them new social challenges.

China Daily, in partnership with relevant organizations, is launching the International Cartoon and Illustration Exhibition 2025 on a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, hoping to promote the responsible use of technology for the benefit of humanity. Under the theme of “Technology and Life”, the exhibition aims to attract public attention to and inspire reflection on technology and the future through creative cartoons and illustrations.

We expect to showcase the profound impact of technology through unique artworks of cartoonists, illustrators and art enthusiasts worldwide, while fostering cross-cultural exchanges, dialogue and mutual understanding. In doing so, we seek to further popularize the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, and to consolidate consensus and strength for creating a brighter future for human civilization.

THEME AND PARTICIPANTS

The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Technology and Life”. Potential topics include:

1.Reflecting technology’s transformative impact on humankind;

2.Displaying how technology changes people’s lives;

3.Envisioning future technological advancements;

4.Honoring scientists and other technology professionals;

5.Other relevant topics.

Submission groups:1. Adult Group (18 years and above)；2. Youth Group (Below 18)

Target participants: Cartoonists, illustrators and art enthusiasts from all over the world are welcome to participate.

The submission phase is from now until July 15, 2025.

The artwork review phase will take place from July to August 2025, and the award ceremony is tentatively scheduled for September or October 2025.

Adult Group:

Gold Prize: 1 winner. ¥30,000 CNY (before tax), a certificate and a portfolio book.

Silver Prize: 2 winners. ¥20,000 CNY (before tax), a certificate and a portfolio book.

Bronze Prize: 3 winners. ¥10,000 CNY (before tax), a certificate and a portfolio book.

Outstanding Prize: 10 winners. An award, a certificate and a portfolio book.

Excellence Prize: 100 winners. A certificate and a portfolio book.

Youth Group:

Excellence Prize: 100 winners. A certificate and a digital portfolio book.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION:

1. The submitted works must be original. Plagiarism or replication of others’ works are not allowed.

2. No restrictions on the style of works. Cartoons, illustrations and other painting styles are all accepted.

3. The works should be submitted in JPG format, with a resolution of 300dpi, file size no less than 2M (the longest side of the picture should not be less than 3000 pixels), and not exceeding 10M.

4. Single pieces of artwork or series of works will be accepted, but each participant can upload no more than 20 pieces.

5. The submitted works should include a title and a brief textual description.

6. For AI-assisted works, please label as “AI-generated” .

7. Participants should provide their contact information, including email address and phone number, when submitting works.

8. Youth Group participants and college students in the Adult Group should additionally provide their school name and grade year. The names of their instructors or training institutions are optional.

Note: Please adhere to the principle of honesty and select the appropriate category based on your age. Participants aged 18 and above should choose the Adult Group, while those under 18 should choose the Youth Group. Submissions will be collected and evaluated separately for each group, and the award certificates will clearly indicate the corresponding category.
