14th GIN-UAH Graphic Humour Contest- Spain 2025

The GIN Foundation, the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts (IQH) and the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer of the University of Alcalá announce the 14th GIN-UAH Graphic Humor Competition, in accordance with the following rules:

STAKE:

Anyone who wishes to participate in the competition may do so, either individually or jointly as a screenwriter and illustrator, in one of these three sections:

General : Anyone interested in the field of humor.

Universities in Spain . Staff and students affiliated with Spanish universities. They must include a document certifying their affiliation with the university.

THEME:

The submitted works must have a humorous intent. The theme is

"More (pay) TV series than ever before"

FORMAT AND EXTENSION:

The submission can be in print or digital format. The artwork must be publishable on print: a single panel, strip, comic page, etc., and must be signed.

Maximum size: A3. For digital submissions, it must be sent as a JPG at 300 dpi.

LANGUAGE:

Works in any of the official languages ​​of Spain or in English are accepted. Works originating from outside Spain and containing text must be labeled .

NUMBER OF WORKS AND ORIGINALITY:

Each participant may submit a maximum of four proposals . All submitted works must be original and unpublished.

SHIPMENT:

The deadline for submitting artwork is December 14, 2025. Original works, reproductions, and digital works are all accepted. Works not returned will become part of the collection of the Graphic Humor Documentation Center at the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts (IQH) of the FGUA. For original works, the artist may request a donation certificate.

Along with the artwork, the PARTICIPATION FORM, which will be shared with these rules, must be submitted, specifying the following information: Full name, telephone number, date of birth, complete postal address, and email address. Section in which you are participating.

AWARDS:

The GIN Graphic Humor Competition consists of 2 prizes in each section, which have the following gross monetary value:

General:

1st prize: 2000 euros.

2nd prize: 1000 euros

Spanish universities:

1st prize: 500 euros.

2nd prize: 250 euros

The winning works, as well as a selection of those submitted, will be published on the websites iqh.es and humoristan.org.

JURY:

The jury for the GIN-UAH Graphic Humor Competition will be appointed by the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts of the FGUA, the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer of the UAH and the GIN Foundation.

The jury reserves the right to declare any of the prizes void or to propose another nominative distribution.

The jury's decision will be made within 3 months of the submission deadline. The winners will be notified and the results will be published on the websites iqh.es and humoristan.org.

Participation in this contest implies acceptance of these rules, as well as the author's express authorization to the organizers to use the work, provided that the author's name is included and the purpose is to promote activities in the fields of humor and science communication, without creating any obligation whatsoever towards the author. The organizers reserve the right, if necessary, to make any modifications they deem necessary for the better functioning of the contest. The organizers are not responsible for the works submitted to the contest.

A selection of works will be part of an exhibition that will take place throughout 2026, organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Research and Transfer of the UAH, the Quevedo Institute of Humor Arts of the FGUA and the GIN Foundation.
