Here's another fun lesson - drawing a cartoon ladybug. But as its name suggests - this one's not exactly looking like a 'lady'. Perhaps you can make the necessary changes to bring out the look you're going for?
Step by step, let's tackle this bug!
First Step - Two Ovals do the Trick!
Again - simplicity steals the show when it comes to drawing a simple bug like this one. And oval for the head, and another (bigger one) for the body. That's it!
Here's how the structure looks...

This basic structure can act as the framework for not just this bug - but many others as well. A beetle for example, could easily be drawn using this approach. Try it out the second time through - add a long horn and color it black to resemble a 'rhinoceros beetle'.
OK - getting ahead of myself here! Back to the ladybug...
Second Step - Time to Draw!
A big cute cartoony look is what we're aiming for here. Change up the eyes and mouth though, and you've got something completely different. A tiny mouth with lips for example, would help to bring out a more 'lady-like' look.
Here's how it takes shape...

And there we go! Sort of sleeping looking... and kind of cute too I guess you could say --- that's how to draw a very simple cartoon ladybug. Above you can visualize - just by changing a few things, you'll have a whole different bug altogether.
Remove the spots and color the back purple - and yup - it's a beetle!
